Grand Alaska Cruise 2011 on board P & O Cruise Liner Arcadia

Arcadia  left Southampton on Tuesday 12th April 2011

During the 13th and 14th April we were at Sea and arrived in Madeira  at 2 noon on Friday 15th April where the temperature was 21 C.

From Saturday 16th April to Wednesday 20th April we were ar Sea, where the temperature was between 20c to 26c.

On Thursday 21st April we arrived in Antigua where the temperature was 29c and the sky sunny


On Friday 22nd April  we arrived St Maarten where it was hot and sunny and the outside temperature 30c

On Saturday 23rd April we arrived in Port Castries ,St Lucia where again it was hot and sunny with a temperature of 30c

On Sunday 24th April we arrived in Bridgetown ,Barbados for a full day and overnight stay.It was sunny with a temperature of  28C


Since leaving Southampton on 12th April "Arcadia" had steamed a total of 4470nautical miles

Monday 25th April was spent at sea and the temperature was around 29C.

On Tuesday 26th April  we arrived in Oranjestad, capital of  the Caribean Island of Aruba.The weather was extremely hot with a temperature of 29c.

Wednesday 27th was spent at sea on our way to the Panama Canal, the sea was very calm and the temperature 27c.

On Thursday 28th April we started our Transit of the Panama Canal, where Marino's boarded "Arcadia " .These are local men who secured the lines from the ship to the "Mules" which guide vessels through the Canal

Friday29th April was spent at sea, where the sea was very calm and the temperature 28c

On Saturday 30th April we arrived at Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, it was very sunny with a temperature of 32c

Sunday 1st May was spent at Sea where the temperature was 28 c and nthe sea moderate

On Monday 2nd May we arrived at arrived at Huatulco in Mexico where again it was sunny and the temperature 30c.

On Tuesday 3rd May we arrived in Acupulco in Mexico in Mexico and again bright skies, sun and temperatures of over 30 

From Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th May we was at Sea where the temperature was between 17 c and 26 c and the seas moderate

On Friday  7th May we arrived in San Francisco for a 2 day stay, it was windy with sunny periods and a temperature of 18 c.

Since leaving Southampton Arcadia had steamed a total of 9076 nautical miles

Saturday 8th May was spent at sea and as we were heading north the temperature had dropped to 12 c and the sea state was slight
